‘ ... கிழக்கிலிருந்து சாஸ்திரிகள் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்து, யூதருக்கு ராஜாவாகப் பிறந்திருக்கிறவர் எங்கே? கிழக்கிலே அவருடைய நட்சத்திரத்தைக் கண்டு, அவரைப் பணிந்து கொள்ள வந்தோம் என்றார்கள்... அவர்கள் கிழக்கிலே கண்ட நட்சத்திரம் பிள்ளை இருந்த ஸ்தலத்திற்குமேல் வந்து நிற்கும்வரைக்கும் அவர்களுக்குமுன் சென்றது... அவர்கள் அந்த நட்சத்திரத்தை கண்ட போது, மிகுந்த ஆனந்த சந்தோஷமடைந்தார்கள்... அவர்கள் அந்த வீட்டுக்குள் பிரவேசித்து, பிள்ளையையும் அதின் தாயாகிய மரியாளையும் கண்டு, சாஷ்டாங்கமாய் விழுந்து அதைப் பணிந்துகொண்டு, தங்கள் பொக்கிஷங்களைத் திறந்து, பொன்னையும் தூபவர்க்கத்தையும் வெள்ளைப்போளத்தையும் அதற்குக் காணிக்கையாக வைத்தார்கள்...’

மேற்கத்திய கலாச்சாரம் தழுவிய புத்தாண்டு தினத்தில், திருமலை வெங்கடேசனை தரிசிக்க ஏகப்பட்ட கூட்டம். சந்துஷ்டியை தேடி அலையும் மானிடர்களுக்கு, ஏதோ ஒரு பிரமேயம் கிடைத்தால் போதும். குழந்தைகளை இனம் தெரியாத உபத்ரவங்கள் படுத்தினால், ஹிந்து குடும்பங்கள் மசூதியில் சென்று, தொழுகை முடிந்த பின் ‘துவா’ பெறுவது உண்டு. ஹிந்துக்கள் நாகூர் தர்காவுக்கும், வேளாங்கண்ணி மாதாகோயிலுக்கும் பயபக்தியுடன் செல்வதும் உண்டு. ‘சிசு தரிசனமும்’ சமய எல்லைகளையும், சம்பிரதாய லக்ஷ்மணரேகைகளையும் கடந்ததுவே. பீடிகை முடிந்தது.
கிருஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகை முடிந்தவுடன், சாங்கோபாங்கமாக, ஒரு கதை சொல்லப்படுவது உண்டு. விவிலயத்திலுள்ள அந்த கதை பற்றிய உன்னத ஓவியங்களை லியோனார்டா வின்ஸி என்ற பன்முகக் கலைஞர் வரைந்தார். டீ.எஸ்.எலியட் என்ற கவிஞர் ஆன்மிகக்கவிதைத்தொடரொன்று படைத்தார். 1931ம் வருடத்தில் எழுதப்பட்ட உசாத்துணையில் இருக்கும் நூல் சொக்கவைக்கும் சொக்கத்தங்கம். இனி கதை சுருக்கம்:
இது ‘பட்டொளி பாதை’யே தான், ஒரு நக்ஷத்திரம் வழித்துணையாக இயங்குவதால். ஸில்க் ரோடு. ஒரு உயர் பிரஞ்ஞை உந்த, உந்த, மூன்று சீன ‘தாவோ’ ஞானிகள் புனித யாத்திரையை தொடங்கினார்கள். இது சீன புத்தாண்டு விழா மட்டுமல்ல, ஒரு புதிய சகாப்தத்தின் நல்வரவு என்று அவர்கள் உணர்ந்தார்கள்.
இலக்கு:பெத்லஹேம்.நாட்க்கணக்காக நடந்த பின், பெத்லஹேம் அடைந்து திருக்குமாரனை தொழுத பின், (கம்சனை போன்ற) ஹீராட் மன்னன் அறியாத வழியில் திரும்பியபோது, ஒரு பாலைவனச்சோலையை அடைந்தார்கள். அங்கு ‘மாகி’ எனப்படும் சமூகம் அவர்களுக்கு விருந்தோம்பினர். கைகட்டி, வாய் புதைத்து அவர்களின் தலைவரான மாகி, வந்திருந்த ஞானிகளின் தலைவரான சிஃபு அவர்களுடன் நடத்திய ஆன்மீக உரையாடல்:
மாகி: வெகு தொலைவில் உள்ள சீனாவில், உங்களுக்கு தேவகுமாரனின் வருகை பற்றி எப்படித் தெரியும்?
ஸிஃபு: எமக்குள் திருக்குமாரன் ~ஒரு ‘புத்தர் பிரான்’ ~ அவதாரம் பற்றிய உள்ளொலி எழுந்தது. தியானமும், நக்ஷத்ரமும் வழி காட்டின. ஓரிரவு சிலுவை உருவில் எழுந்த ஒரு நக்ஷத்திரக்கூட்டம் பட்டொளி பாட்டையில் அழைத்து சென்றது.
மாகி: நீங்கள் சிசு தரிசனம் செய்தது எப்படி?
ஸிஃபு: அந்த விண்மீன் எம்மை பெத்லஹெமுக்கு அழைத்துச் சென்றது; ஒரே கூட்டம்; குழப்பம்; கலவரம்.அவரவர் ஊருக்கு திரும்பவேண்டும் என்ற அரசாணை. எங்களுக்கு தங்க இடம் கிடைக்கவில்லை. ஒரு விடுதியின் பின் உள்ள மாட்டு தொழுவத்தில் தங்கச் சொன்னார்கள். ஒட்டகங்களை கட்டி விட்டு, மூட்டை முடிச்சுகளை அவிழ்த்து விட்டு, அங்கு போனால், பல இடையர்கள் அங்கு. எதையோ கண்டு மகிழ்ந்த வண்ணம் இருந்தனர். ஒரு சுயம்பிரகாசமான ஒளி வீச்சு! நாங்கள் விழுந்து வணங்கினோம்; தொழுதோம். எம்முள் இருந்த உள்ளொலி உள்ளொளியாக பிரகாசித்தது. அது அன்னையில் அரவணைப்புப் போல எனலாம். தலை நிமிர்ந்தால், கண்கொள்ளாக்காட்சி! வைக்கோல் பிரிமணை மீது அன்னை மேரி. தொழுவத்தில், திருக்குமாரன். எங்களுக்கோ, மற்றவர்கள் போல, புனர்ஜன்மம். தொழுதோம், பக்தி பரவசத்துடன். ககன சாரிகை தான், போங்கள்!
ஒரு மாகி சமூகத்தினர்: கன்னி மாதாவின் குழவி! இது இறையின் அவதாரமே!
ஸிஃபி: ஆம். அப்படித்தான் தோன்றியது.
மாகி: நீங்கள் பரிசுகள் பல சமர்ப்பித்ததாக கேள்விப்பட்டோம்.
ஸிஃபி: ஓ! பொன்னும், மணியும், பூஜை புனஸ்காரம் செய்ய சூடம், சாம்பிராணி, ஊதுவத்தி, வாசனைப்பொடிகள், புனுகு, ஜவ்வாது, எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலாக, எங்கள் நாட்டு வைத்திய அறிவுரைகள். பொன் நீரை சுத்திகரிக்கும்; நாங்கள் கொணர்ந்தவையில் கிருமிநாசினிகளும் உண்டு.
மாகி: அப்பறம்?
ஸிஃபி: எல்லாரும் மகிழ்ச்சியில் திளைத்திருந்தாலும், அரசபயம் இருந்தது. மன்னன் ஹீராட் சிசுஹத்திக்குக் காத்திருந்தான்.
மாகி: என்ன ஆச்சு?
ஸிஃபி:கவலையற்க, நண்பரே. தாயும், சேயும் ஒரு மாகி நண்பர் வீட்டில் அடைக்கலம். உரிய நேரத்தில் திருக்குமாரர் மார்க்கபந்துவாக வந்து ‘டாவோ’ அறநெறியை பரப்புவார்.
மாகி: என்னே ஆச்சரியம்! இருள் நீங்கி பிரகாசம் வரும் வேளையில், நாம் ‘மித்ரா’ என்று ஆதவனை தொழும் வேளையில் திருக்குமாரர் அவதாரம்.
ஸிஃபி: ததாஸ்து. புதிய சகாப்தம் விடிந்ததாக, அசரீரி சொல்கிறது.
மாகி: என்னே ஆச்சிரியம்! மோசஸ் ஒரு குப்பியில் அடைபட்டு மிதந்ததாக சொல்கிறார்கள். தொழுவத்தில் தேவகுமாரன்.
ஸிஃபி: புத்தபிரான்கள் பலதடவை வந்தனர். அதற்கான அறிகுறிகளில் மாற்றமேதும் இல்லை.
மாகி: தொழுவம்: இது எதற்கு சின்னம் ஆகிறது?
ஸிஃபி: ஒருகால், அது நாம் விலங்கின இயல்புகளை துறக்கவேண்டும் என்பதற்கான சின்னமாக இருக்கலாம். இரக்க ஸ்வபாவத்தை நமக்கு அளிப்பதற்காக இருக்கலாம். இந்த தெய்வீக சிசுவின் சான்னித்யத்தை உணர்த்த இருக்கலாம்.
மாகி: ஸிஃபி! இந்த சிசுவின் மேன்மையை பற்றி என்ன நினைக்கிறீர்கள்?
ஸிஃபி: கெளதமர் சமீபத்தில் அவதரித்த புத்தர் பிரான். அவர் மாதிரியே, இந்த மாமுனியும் கருணாமூர்த்தியாகவும், குருநாதராகவும் விளங்குவார் என்று எனக்கு தோன்றுகிறது. குருமுகங்கள் வந்து போகும். ஆனால், உன்னதமான சிஷ்யர்களுக்கு மட்டும் தானே ஞானம் கிட்டும்.
